Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Welcome to Synaps3D. These Terms & Conditions explain the arrangements for purchasing products through our website, www.synaps3d.com.
Please read them before placing an order.
1. About Synaps3D
Synaps3D is an independent UK business specialising in personalised gifts, laser engraving, UV printing and filament 3D printing.
Business owner: Richard Hutchinson trading as Synaps3D

Website: www.synaps3d.com
2. Products
We aim to provide accurate photographs, descriptions and specifications for all products.
Due to the nature of manufacturing, natural materials and personalised production, minor variations in colour, texture and finish may occur.
Natural slate, wood and similar materials may vary in appearance. Filament 3D printed products may have visible layer lines or other normal characteristics of the printing process.
These variations do not affect your statutory rights. Products must still be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
3. Personalised and Custom Orders
Many Synaps3D products can be personalised with names, dates, photographs, messages or customer-supplied artwork.
Please check all personalisation details carefully before submitting your order.
We will normally produce items using the information you provide at checkout.
Design proofs are supplied only where we consider them necessary. If a proof is supplied, production may be delayed until approval is received.
If you notice an error after placing an order, contact us immediately at orders@synaps3d.com.
We will try to accommodate changes where possible, but cannot guarantee alterations once production has started.
4. Customer-Supplied Artwork and Photographs
By supplying artwork, photographs, logos, designs or other files, you confirm that you have the rights or necessary permission to use them for the requested product.
You authorise Synaps3D and its relevant production service providers to use your submitted material to fulfil your order.
We may decline orders containing material that we reasonably believe is unlawful, infringes another person's intellectual property rights or is unsuitable for production. If an order cannot be fulfilled, we will arrange an appropriate refund.
Customer photographs and personal artwork will not be deliberately used in public advertising without appropriate permission.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information about how uploaded files are handled.
5. 3D Printing Services
Our 3D printed products are manufactured using filament-based FDM/FFF technology.
We do not provide resin printing, CAD modelling or 3D design services.
For custom printing requests, customers must supply suitable ready-to-print files.
We may advise if a supplied file is unsuitable for printing or requires changes outside the scope of our services.
Customers should follow product-specific instructions and safety information. Products containing small parts may be unsuitable for young children.
6. Prices and Payment
All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP).
Synaps3D is not VAT registered, and VAT is not added to our product prices.
Delivery charges are calculated and displayed at checkout before payment.
Payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments.
If a genuine pricing or listing error is identified, we will contact you before proceeding and offer an appropriate choice, including a refund where necessary.
7. Placing an Order
By placing an order, you confirm that the information supplied is accurate and that you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
You will receive an order confirmation by email.
If an item is unavailable or we cannot fulfil your order, we will contact you and arrange a refund where appropriate.
Custom orders may require additional information or approval before production begins.
8. Processing and Delivery
Our standard order processing time is approximately 1–3 working days, excluding weekends and bank holidays.
Larger or more complex custom orders may take longer. We will provide further information where necessary.
Orders are delivered within the United Kingdom only, using Royal Mail.
Estimated delivery after dispatch is 1–2 working days.
Delivery estimates are not guarantees. Any agreed delivery deadline and your statutory delivery rights remain applicable.
Unless a different delivery period is agreed, goods will be delivered without undue delay and within the period required by UK consumer law, normally no later than 30 days.
Delivery charges are displayed before checkout is completed.
We do not currently offer customer collection.
Synaps3D remains responsible for goods until they are delivered to you or a person you nominate, subject to applicable consumer law.
Please refer to our Shipping & Delivery Policy for additional details.
9. Cancellation Rights
For most standard, non-personalised products purchased online, customers have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days after receiving their goods, without giving a reason.
Customers must notify us within that period and ordinarily have a further 14 days to return the goods.
Genuinely personalised or bespoke products made to a customer's specifications are generally exempt from the statutory 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right.
Examples may include products engraved with a customer's chosen name, items UV printed with personal photographs and products individually manufactured to a customer's specific design.
Simply making an ordinary product after an order is placed does not automatically remove cancellation rights.
If you wish to cancel a personalised order, contact us as soon as possible. We may be able to accommodate the request before production begins.
These provisions do not affect your statutory rights concerning faulty, damaged or incorrectly described products.
10. Returns, Refunds and Faulty Products
We want customers to be satisfied with their purchases.
If your order arrives damaged, faulty or incorrectly made, please contact orders@synaps3d.com with your order number and details of the problem.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Where applicable, consumers have a short-term right to reject faulty goods within 30 days, together with further statutory remedies depending on the circumstances.
For eligible change-of-mind returns, customers are responsible for direct return postage costs.
Where an item is faulty or incorrectly supplied, Synaps3D will meet reasonable necessary return costs as required by law.
Please refer to our Returns & Refunds Policy for full cancellation, return and refund procedures.

12. Product Use and Safety
Products should be used only for their intended purposes.
Customers should follow any care, handling and safety instructions provided with the product.
Some 3D printed items may contain small components or articulated parts and are not suitable for children below the age stated in the relevant product information.
Nothing in this section excludes responsibility or legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Intellectual Property
The Synaps3D name, original website content, photographs and original designs are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Customers retain the rights they hold in artwork and photographs supplied for personalisation.
Purchasing a physical product does not automatically transfer ownership of associated intellectual property.
14. Privacy and Customer Information
Customer information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We use Shopify to operate our online store and Shopify Payments to process payments.
xTool CustomThings is used for relevant product personalisation.
Please review our Privacy Policy for more information about customer information, uploaded artwork and data protection rights.
15. Complaints and Customer Support
If you experience a problem with your purchase, please email orders@synaps3d.com.
Include your order number and details of the issue so we can investigate.
We aim to resolve customer complaints fairly and within a reasonable timeframe.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions to reflect changes to our business, services or legal obligations.
Updated terms will be published on our website.
Any changes will not retrospectively remove customers' contractual or statutory rights relating to existing orders.
17. Governing Law and Statutory Rights
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer law.
